This animal lover was enjoying the trip of a lifetime when she was brought back down to earth with a bump by a grumpy elephant. American student Whitney Lavaux wanted to get closer to nature - nd certainly managed that after stumbling upon elephants being washed by locals in Chiang Mai.
She decided to lend a helping hand and began brushing the mighty beast's trunk as a pal filmed.
But the majestic creature was evidently camera-shy - and suddenly lobbed Whitney into the air with a thrust of its tusks.
Thankfully the student was unhurt.
